The idea of Dogosaurs own low fat dog biscuits has been inspired by a Rottweiller named Shelby and a Daschund named Lexi.
In 2025 both dogs were diagnosed with Pancreatitis and were needing a low fat diet to help maintain the disease so they still live a full and happy life.
Sadly, Shelby was diagnosed with Pancreatitis in an emergency visit to the vet and although everything possible was done to try and help Shelby, the flare up led to her passing away at only the age of 4.
Not long after this, a Daschund named Lexi was also diagnosed with Pancreatitis and had to have treatment at the vets.
Fortunately, Lexi survived and is back to being her little self. However, her diet had to totally change to help her live a healthy and happy life. Lexi is on a strict low fat diet and is not allowed more than 4g per day and her owners found it difficult to find low fat that are as low as this.
In fact, it was a harder task than it looked!
After alot of research, I found an amazing small business here in the UK whose ethos was everything about what is best for any dogs health. Their treats look and smell good enough for a human to eat, due to the use of all natural, human grade, hypoallergenic, grain free ingredients, gently baked in small batches. The rest is history or should i say 'prehistoric' ha ha!

These low fat dog biscuits are in memory of Shelby the beautiful Rottweiler and to help the lovely little Daschund Lexi lead a healthy and happy life, aswell as all other dogs who suffer from Pancreatitis, sensitive stomach, other allergies or simply follow a weight management diet.
