Dogosaur How It Started
Here's the dino-sized tale of how Dogosaur stomped onto the UK dog toy scene. Our story began about four years ago with a mission: to create a dog's “toy shop” packed with the safest, toughest, and undeniably charming, dog toys around. As lifelong dog lovers, especially golden retriever fans (we've had them since childhood!), we know first-hand the chaos that a strong, energetic pup can bring to even the hardiest of toys.
The idea for Dogosaur really roared to life after we lost our beloved retriever, Robbie, in 2020. His memory nudged us to welcome April, our first female retriever, into our family. From the moment she arrived, April made her own rules. If you know retrievers, you'll understand when we say her innocent face hid the soul of a true dinosaur! She earned the nickname "Velocir-April" with her little teeth, claws, unstoppable attitude, and even those raspy, dramatic Jurassic Park-style snorts.
As April grew, so did the carnage in our home, fluffy white clouds of toy stuffing scattered everywhere! We quickly realised ordinary toys just didn't cut it for our dino-dog. That's when we decided to create a one-stop shop for safe dog toys: tough enough for dinosaurs, but cute enough to bring a smile to any owner's face. When Sahara, her lively, beach-loving retriever sister, joined our pack, the need for strong, durable, and indestructible dog toys was greater than ever.
April and Sahara, our very own Dogosaur ambassadors, personally put all our toys through their paces (and jaws, and paws). If it doesn't withstand their dino-strength testing, we don't sell it.
That's our pawfect promise to you:
if it's not good enough for our dogs, it won't make it to your home.
So Who Are Dogosaur?
We're a small, family-run business based in South Staffordshire, near the West Midlands, and we love dogs as much as we love dinosaurs. At Dogosaur, our goal is to bring together safe, strong, and charming dog toys, treats, and dinosaur-themed accessories, all under one roof.
